I am a frequent visitor to K-19 and have been since Park Plaza opened up in the City of Joy. They usually have a great Buffet Spread on offer both in terms of variety and quality. As its Ramzan they have included some special items for their patrons and we were invited by the Management for a tasting.
They had all the usual Soups, Salads , Breads and Chaat Counters and I would suggest you go when you have worked up a nice appetite to do this lovely spread justice. The presence of the Ramzan specials were visible in the starters itself we were served piping hot , crispy Peyaz ka Pakora (Onion Fritters) which I love and was more than happy to munch on. The Machhi Talatil was very good and I liked the texture and flavor of the dish, this was followed by the Saufiyan Paneer Tikka which was very nice. The Salads continued with the Ramzan special’s and included Warm Masaledar Red Channa Salad and Assorted Fruit Chaat …. perfect for the summer!
However it’s the main course and the wonderful Nizami Murgh Biryani that stole the show. Absolutely yummy, the Afgani Macchhi was pretty good and the Mutton Haleem was decent but I feel it would have had a better depth of flavor if the mutton was cooked down further and mixed with the Dal rather than the pieces of mutton it contained. There was plenty of variety for the Vegetarians but I only tasted the Awadhi Style Aloo Methi Masala and the Chukunder Paneer which were both delicious and I enjoyed with the hot butter naan served to us on our table.
Desserts are always well represented in this buffet and they had Pakizah Phirnee and Aam Halwa to complement the other desserts, a perfect way to end this scrumptious meal.
Chef Jayanta Banerjee and his Team work hard to serve up consistently good food and I would recommend this place to all my fellow food enthusiasts. The Sunday Lunch Buffet is a personal favorite as is their Night Revelers Buffet available from 10pm till 1am and with a 50% Discount on offer to the guests.
